Originally meaning the central aperture of the eye. Figuratively it is something, or more usually someone, cherished above others.
Deuteronomy 32:10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. Zechariah 2:8: For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
I've been blessed with three children, a son and two daughters, who are the apple of my eye. My youngest daughter Ashtin was diagnosed with Down syndrome at birth. I never realized what a small person I was until she came into my life. My husband and I are both Oklahoma State graduates and I was born and raised in Oklahoma. I work full-time as a Project Manager outside the home. Please leave comments or feel free to contact me.
