Do Not Worry

”Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25 I've been trying to not worry. This is easier said then done. I am worried about getting Caden enrolled in full-time kindergarten (it's only half day in Kansas). My eye started twitching about 3 weeks ago which is a sign of stress. I'm also worried about losing my job due to layoffs. My eye is still twitching. I so badly would like to not worry but it's hard to do. Since Caden is going to kindergarten this year and next (June birthday) I really wanted him to get into an all day program. Especially since he is going all day at daycare it is logical. Sprint is doing three rounds of layoffs. One down 2 to go. I read this prayer and liked it so much I am going to share it. This is from a book "The Cup of Our Life" Prayer for Taking Up Crosses Jesus, happiness and struggle were constantly woven through your life. Why is it that I want the joy, the glory, the good stuff, but I don't want the sorrow, the pain, the struggle? Strengthen me and guide me when crosses such as anxiety, struggle, heartache, loneliness, sadness, time crunches, and frustrations pervade my days. Deepen my desire to be your disciple. Amen

I'm Back

I know, I've been slacking at updating my blog. I joined Facebook (which is addicting), finished my scrapbooks through 10/31, completed Christmas shopping (mostly on-line), ordered Xmas cards, and read a terrific book (Jodi Picoult, The Pact). Therefore, I'm ready for a comeback. I am really enjoying everyones Christmas cards. I can't believe how big your kids are getting. - Does this mean we are getting older?

ORANGE POWER

As you can tell, I'm attempting to play catch up on blogging. On October 11th, Kevin and I loaded a chartered bus with Stillwater National Bank and headed to Columbia for the OSU/MU game. We sported our orange and enjoyed the company. The game was great too since we won the game. Here are some pictures. me and DH We really had to climb over a fence in order to get to the stadium. The ladder was not there after the game. Geez, what's up with that? Footage of the game, "Let's go cowboys!"

What do I need?

So there's a funny in blogland where you are supposed to go to Google and type in "Your name needs" and see what comes up. SO I went and typed "Diane needs" and here's what comes up. I did Kevin's below too, and then one favorite for each of the kids. Diane needs prayers. (always!) Diane needs a shower. (Ok, so yes I don't shower as often as I should -lol) Diane needs a pigfoot and a bottle of beer (Can I just have the bottle of beer?) Diane needs a good affair (No way!) Diane needs to get a room (can I go to this room by myself?) Diane needs to get some sleep (If you insist!) _________________________________________ Kevin needs a liver transplant (What, I don't think so!) Kevin needs a job really soon (this would be nice especially if he could work the 3 hour workweek) Kevin needs groupies (HA, new friends are always nice to have) Kevin needs social glue (Huh?) Kevin needs to invest $100 million (Okay, does this come with the new job?) Kevin needs our help (probably in acquiring the 1 million) __________________________________________________ Caden needs to be more independent (but he can get himself dressed and go to the bathroom by himself!) Five things before I was a mom, I never thought I'd. . .

1. Pronounce coffee (boffey), kitchen (chichen), snack (knack). And say "do you have to go potty?" more times in a day then I actually do go to the restroom. 2. Drive a mini-van and eat at McDonalds so often. 3. Look forward to bedtime. Reading stories and getting so many hugs and kisses. 4. Enjoy planning birthday parties and decorating for holidays more then my kids (ditto Candy). 5. Feeling so wanted and loved.

Blogging Debut

I have been reading blogs for close to a year now and became inspired to create my own. Therefore, I would like to start by sharing what I did this past Monday. I'm involved with my church in MOYC (mothers of young children) community service. Several moms visited the Grace Center which is a home for homeless teenage expecting and new mothers. There were about 10 girls present and we brought dinner and made those no sew blankets with the girls. I can't stop thinking about those ladies. There was a 4 day old baby to a 15 year old and a pregnant 16 year old who also has a 3 year old. Incredible. The gal who runs the center is amazing. She is saving babies by opening up the center (by word of mouth and Catholic Charities) should these young ladies have no place to live or care for their babies. The girls arrive with nothing and they provide clothes, school supplies, etc. . . for both mom and baby. I now want to clean out my basement of all the stuff I don't need that could be put to good use. The gal that runs the center explained that all the ladies had something in common and that is that they just want to be loved. Unfortunately having a baby is their cure for this low self esteem. I was so moved by the new moms and will keep them in my prayers.
